Diabetics must resist their temptations when dining at Applebee's. Most of the items on Applebee's menu is either stuffed with sodium or sugar. You must be extra careful and pick low-sugar and low-sodium diet at Applebee's if you are diabetic.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Blood Pressure
Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Avoid ordering foods that contain over 1000mg sodium at Applebee's, especially if you're dining alone.
Food Suggestions for High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Well, steaks and ribs go hand in hand with cholesterol. Being their signature dish, it will be a challenge to find low-calorie, healthy food for those concerned with their cholesterol levels. However, you can always opt for their salads and other light foods to keep the cholesterol in check.
Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for High Cholesterol
If you have high cholesterol, then you must avoid eating sandwiches, wraps, and tacos at Applebee's. While the salads and soups sound healthy, you must skip the Fiesta Chopped Salad and Loaded Potato Soup at Applebee's. It is also advised to dodge the Three Cheese Chicken Penne and Chicken Fajita Rollup. Any main meal with over 100mg cholesterol is not idle for someone with high cholesterol. So, skip those items at Applebee's.
Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
I had just gotten into town for business and chose this for lunch. The meal was ok. The soup initially came out cold and the entree portion was rather small.

We came by this place on a lazy Thursday afternoon on our way to a nearby hotel. Since the restaurant was pretty much empty at the time, I can't comment on noise levels or overall ambiance. But the food was pretty good. We tried the boneless wings, burgers and lime chicken and we all loved what we had. I also indulged in their specialty sangria and it was good (although I've had better). The waitress was very friendly and helpful and I definitely would come back. So if you're ever in the proverbial neighborhood, give these guys a try.

Famished after a treacherous hike through the Oregon Trail, my travel companion and I were quickly rejuvenated by our exemplary cuisine at the Klamath Falls Applebee's. Let me start out with the view. We had never been to an Applebee's with a view quite like this and, let me tell you, we have been to quite a lot of Applebee's in our day. Our finely upholstered booth offered a breathtaking view of the Oregon hillside. We were so awe-struck by the view that it seemed like no time at all before our meal arrived. And, BOY, did it arrive! The aroma was overpowering and we could not wait to dive in. The chicken fingers were clearly the best in the west and the ranch dressing they came with was simply to die for. I immediately sent photography capturing the memory of my decadent sauce to my best friend, a Michigan native and true ranch dressing connoisseur. As if the food wasn't reason enough to give this joint five stars, every time our waitress Ali swept by our table, it was like a breath of fresh air. The service she provided felt akin to that of our own family members. Furthermore, we had the pleasure of overhearing a conversion between a fellow patron and the manager. The patron seemed transfixed upon random stuff (i.e. the lighting in the restaurant). The manager patiently empathized with the patron's concerns. The customer service we witnessed was unparalleled. With leadership like that, it's no wonder this place whips out delicious fried foods and superstar servers. We even witnessed a team of servers come together to help a table of ladies with a stubborn ketchup bottle. All in all, we can't wait to come back on a Friday night because we know the bar would be bumping. Their motto don't lie, we darn sure ate good in the neighborhood!

At least they did not screw up the chicken nuggets my daughter ordered. I have never seen a hamburger as poor quality as they made me. I will not be back and am telling everyone I know who travels to or thru K-Falls to stay away from Applebees by the hospital and OIT.

Don't. Just don't. I don't expect much from Applebee's, but even this was disappointing to me. My burger was ok, but my wife's salmon and vegetable dish was pathetic. Only 5 small slices of potatoes and zucchini which were clearly freeze dried and then microwaved on a bed of wilted lettuce. Not to mention that our beers came only half full.

The place was disgusting! I'm visiting out of town and because there wasn't many sit down restaurant I decided Apple bee's was a pretty safe choice. I called in for curb side which they offer waited 20 minutes in my car until I decided to walk in. What's the point of asking the make and model of my car if you aren't paying attention and having customers come inside anyways?! When I walked in I was shocked. The place looked like an old bar and smelt like one too. The bar had unattended glasses all over. Obviously we're not being taken care of. I saw no management on the floor which I've seen at other places. And my food was not good either. There was sauce all in the outside of my To go container. This is a business and an establishment it should be ran like one and staffed with people who are capable of doing what their job duties are.

Stopped by a few weeks back to get some non-chinese or mexican food in K-falls after 8 pm. The place was fairly full when we got there, but most of the tables had their food already. It only took a minute before someone showed us to a table. Drink orders were taken, and menus/water was given, after only about a minute at the table. My friend ordered a salad and a sirloin steak dinner, while I tried their fish and chips. The salad came out fairly quickly, so quickly that there was no silverware on the table yet. After a couple minutes of trying to make eye-contact, I finally walked over to the bar to get our waitress' attention. She was busy crouching down, holding the dishwasher door closed--and explained that that was the only way it works. By the way she talked about it, I got the feeling that it had been that way for months. The steak was edible, and they made an effort to season it. They must have misheard her asking for meduim rare, because it was just a bit short of well-done. The fish and chips was just what I'd expect from the dish, properly done and just the right amount of crispy. The reason I write the review, was that the service was so weird, that I'm still thinking of it weeks later. When the waitstaff is not taking care of their tables because they need to be touching the dishwasher to keep it working, the management needs to be changed. Not only does this hurt the service, and the tips of the waitstaff, but it also raises questions of sanitation. If someone has to go from holding a dishwasher door closed, to pouring drinks and serving food, there is concern for cross-contamination. When they have to do this numerous time in an hour, I just know that handwashing protocols are not being followed.

The absolute worst service I have ever had. It took the server five minutes to show up to our table. No apologies for how long it took, just showed up and took out drink order. Dropped the drinks off without a word, and even ask if we were ready to order. Here's a run-down of the next ten minutes: table across from us got a second round of beer and their meal, our server brought out drinks and meals to several other tables, took two tables' orders, and the table across from us finished their beer and meal. We tried to get the server's attention several times and we were ignored. After that, we got up and left. We will not be back to this location for a while.

This has never been one of the restaurant's we frequent, but after tonight that may change. As we neared the front door a young lady held the door open and greeted us. She had been on the sidewalk ahead of us and obviously worked here. We were seated and told our waitress, Alecia, would be with us soon. Our waitress turned out the be the young lady who held the door open for us. We found Alecia to be friendly, and attentive, and very good at what she does. We had the "two for twenty-five dinner" and onion ring appetizers, along with a bottle of Bogel Cabernet wine. What a wonderful dinner! My steak was cooked to perfection and very tasty. My wife's dinner of Mac & Cheese with chicken was more than she could hope to eat and according to her, delicious. What really made this dinner special was Alecia, the waitress. I guess a good waitress adds a lot to your dinning experience, and this young lady was no exception. She was one of the best we have ever had wait on us...

Wow, why did I come back? Who puts a raw onion on a burnt piece of chicken and calls it Napa Chicken? Bleh. And who serves several appetizers without giving plates?

Very difficult for me to go to this Applebee's. Having worked in the highest volume Applebee's in the country in college, I know the systems they have in place are nearly idiot proof. I stress "nearly" because K Falls location has managed to destroy the system. Problem starts with management. Rarely see managers at this location unless their out behind the store smoking with the rest of the front house staff. Our last visit, we were graced by the manager on duty who had his shirt partially untucked and honestly seemed either drunk or hung over. It usually smells bad, like the beer lines haven't been cleaned. Reminds me of college frat house smell. Don't go in bathrooms on a busy night! Hostesses always seem put out because they have to find you a table. Not sure what they think their job is. Wait staff varies, but more often than not you'll get a "what do you want to drink? What do you want to eat? Here's your check" level of service. Food is fine most of the time. One system they haven't managed to destroy.

Stopped in for birthday dinner and had a good time. Food was good as always. I think you can expect consistency between all the locations. Staff was nice, we didn't wait any time at all to be seated and we were ordering within a few minutes. The food was hot and fresh and our drinks were refilled at the right time. I will go back again to this location and I would recommend it to others who visit the area.

Ten years ago, I lived in Carson City Nevada and when Applebee's came to town, it was really, really good. we ate there a lot. But the quality soon began to drop off. The care and pride just seemed to vanish over night. I want them to be our go to place for a nicer meal. I really, really want them to not disappoint us, and we keep going back hoping it'll be better, but alas....................... We keep giving this Applebee's chances to be good because its close to our house...but there is always one of us out of three that ends up unhappy. This time I had the 4 cheese mac & cheese with honey pepper chicken tenders. It came loaded with the mac & cheese garnished with bacon and a bit of a kick of spice. This does not come from a blue box; it was pretty good and lots of it. Cheesy and rich but not too over the top. There was however, only three chicken tenders thrown on top and they were small; only about 4 inches long. I wish there had been more because they were yummy. My daughter usually orders the Chicken Penne Alfredo and can make two meals out of it but this time, she tried the Cedar Grilled Lemon Chicken with rice. It looked nothing even close to the picture in the menu; you'd think we'd asked for a half order. Skimpy is an understatement!! BIG disappointment. My husband ordered the Brew Pub Philly with hand cut chips that looked like extra thick Ruffles. The sandwich also came with homemade pickles that he said were really good. I guess he liked the sandwich, he ate it all. We sat at the bar right by the beer taps while we waited and I noticed that each beer they poured had too much of a head, indicating their fridge system is not cold enough. There was also a stale beer smell; my guess is that the taps need cleaning. We got our order to go, but lesson learned...check the food before leaving the restaurant. Next time, I wont be taking any skimpy food home, if there is a next time. TODD, APPLEBEE'S MANAGER!!!! IT MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA TO MAYBE READ SOME OF YOUR YELP REVIEWS. DO YOU EVEN KNOW THAT YOUR KITCHEN IS SERVING RIDICULOUSLY INCONSISTENT PORTIONS AND SOME OF THE POOREST QUALITY FOOD IN THE KLAMATH BASIN?

I like Applebee's and eat there often but this location stinks! The service is slow and the sever Casey spends more time chatting it up with her friends rather then waiting on everyone equal. ( She walked pass my table 5 times without stopping!) How long does my glass have to sit empty? Why are you not upselling? Whatever happened to service??? I will never go there again and that $1.00 tip I left? You should have gotten 0

We have to go to Applebee's once in a while, either because someone else wants to go, or to remind ourselves of why we do not go there more. This visit was no exception as a reminder. Our hostess did not know what beers they had available, and it took a couple trips to figure it out they did not have what one person in our party wanted. Rather than list available beers, she brought waters. and said our server would deal with it. It took awhile before we got to order, and it was obvious the server was in a rush. The appetizer came out in a timely manner, then we waited. Three items came out together, a couple minutes later, the fourth entree arrived. One out of 4 people were happy with their dinner, the Bourbon St. steak. Another steak came out with a dry potato and since our server had too many tables, it took awhile to find some butter. The Lemon Fettucini Shrimp was bland, not hot and generally disappointing. One person received a wrong food and everyone else was almost done eating before the replacement arrived. The one bright spot was our server, despite being obviously over-committed on tables and trying to compensate for the back of the house, she maintained her sense of humor. I will not be making it a point of going back any time soon.

We LOVE Applebee's but this one didn't even give us a chance. They seated us quickly then ignored us. Tables around us were being served and the host, thankfully brought us water, but after waiting at least half an hour and having no attention from a server, we left. That was ridiculous!!! I've worked at popular restaurants before so I understand being busy, but there was no excuse for this. No manager was visible-at least no one wearing a name tag identifying themselves as such. We had servers passing us constantly- bringing food and drinks to people seated after us. We had our menus visible ON the table... We made it as obvious as possible and nothing. Management certainly needs some training here. Where's Undercover Boss when you need them?? And what is up with Yelp forcing me to give this badly run restaurant a star??? How about 0 stars?

We showed up at 3pm on a Saturday. There were not many customers- the restaurant was perhaps 1/5 full. There was no sign at the host stand indicating whether or not to wait to be seated, so we waited. After 10 minutes, we decided to find a booth. Out of approximately 20 booths, 4 or 5 were occupied, and the rest were dirty. We found only one without dishes on it; it had been cleared, but not restocked with silverware etc. Our server came by and asked what we wanted. Hard to say, without a menu. She brought out our menus and seemed surprised that we didn't already have them. I ordered a bar drink. After 10 minutes we overheard the bartender asking for someone to run drinks. Nothing doing. 5 minutes later he showed up and slammed down my drink, splashing a bunch of it on the table. He offered a cursory apology and hurried off. We were left with a wet sticky table because we had no napkins to wipe it up. I ordered the Fiesta Lime Chicken, and my husband ordered the Cowboy Burger. When the server brought our food, she asked us if we wanted anything else. We asked for silverware. My chicken was inedible. It's not that it was overcooked or undercooked, it just tasted off, as if it and its toppings had been concocted in a lab. It had a strange metallic taste and rubbery consistency. The shoe-string onion rings on my husband's burger were so salty that he had to take every one of them off- and he's likes salty food. When our server came back to check on us, I told her that the chicken was not to my liking, and she offered a menu so I could choose something else. I chose the 'cross-cut BBQ ribs'. They came out after my husband had finished eating. The BBQ sauce was OK if a bit cloying, but the ribs were not ribs. They were these 1/4 inch thin strips of pork that had been battered and deep fried and then coated in sauce. Each of them had a flat, blade-shaped sliver of bone, surrounded by a tiny bit of meat and a lot of breading, rendering them very difficult to eat. BBQ, bone-in breading is what they were. I'm giving two stars instead of one because our server was decent, but I think the place was understaffed. I won't be back.

You've had the food elsewhere so this review is to tell you that they don't close till 10:00 pm if you're in need of late night sustenance. The food is well prepared
Do not waste your money or time! I am a local resident and I have eaten here a few times and I am NEVER impressed. Service is average at best. One time a glass shattered in my hand, spilling all over my lap and the table, I even received a small cut on my arm and my husband had to notify the staff what happened because no one noticed, all I got was a towel to clean up with. No visit from the manager, no compensation on our check. If you are in Klamath Falls try one of the exceptional local restaurants.

The only reason I am giving this joint two stars is that, in the past, I've had fairly-good experiences there. However, I don't know why I even stop to eat at a place, which has photos of the dishes on the menu. I suppose it is for patrons who are too dumb to read the menu, and they can just point to a picture. ("Dis wun iz purdy, I'll hab dat.") I was there yesterday, 24 April 2013, and the experience just sucked. I ordered a chicken dish, and the chicken was quite dry. I ordered a house salad afterwards. The greens were stale and the little grape tomatoes looked like prunes. Also, I wanted oil & vinegar for a dressing, and they were out of oil! WTF? I ate it all, because I was quite hungry ... but ... I could not wait to get out of there. Oh, the waitress would often disappear for quite some time. To be fair, the Manager did not charge me for the wilted salad, after I complained a bit. So, he did the right thing there. There are much better places to eat in Klamath Falls.

Applebee's food is what it is - the menu comes from headquarters and I think a lot of it is at least partially prepared elsewhere, and it is consistent; so if you like Applebee's elsewhere you'll like this one. My comment, then, is for all Applebee's: try to get some vegetarian items on the menu. If you are vegan forget about it. If vegetarian you can have any burger as a veggie burger or try the veggie garden pizza (an appetizer - basically a small pizza with the spinach dip as sauce and mozzarella cheese topping). Or I guess you could order deep fried mozzarella sticks. So what I mean to say is that if Applebee's had a couple vegetarian specific entrees then it might improve the experience for vegetarian customers. Other than that this place is great - the staff is friendly, the decor is the usual Applebee's busy look but with local touches. If you like a giant burger and a plate of fries, well, this is the place.

We went to Applebee's tonight and both my boyfriend and I both ordered sirloin steaks asked for them Medium, both came extra well done. Our awesome waitress Jessica R. Noticed we were unhappy and took our steaks back to have them re made. I have Applebee's 4 stars, if it wasn't for Jessica's great service I would have gave 2! If you go ask for Jessica, she's great!!
While living in K. Falls, we went there fairly often. Good food, good service. We especially liked the big salads with meat on top.

Yep, this place sucks. Our burger I ordered was cold and without any lettuce or tomatoes. The fries was cold as well/burnt. My wife ordered a steak that was less than pictured in their menu. Seems that although the place was well packed there was only 3 servers on a weekend? Overall, very much a sucky restaurant with bad cooks behind the big name restaurant.

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. Although the trademark dish Riblets is a hot favorite among regular Applebee's dwellers, the restaurant also serves some amazing burgers, sandwiches, pasta, and salads.
Healthy Food Options at Applebee's
When a restaurant serves ribs as their main dish, then you can assume the diet-friendliness of their menu. Well, Applebee's is no different. However, you can dig deeper into their menu and pick some good healthy food options for sure. You can try the salads, light sandwiches, appetizers to ensure you don't order heavy items, etc. If you are really diet conscious, then you got to be careful with their steaks & ribs as well as desserts section.

Drove am hour to get here excited about beer and food. ..turns out their hours on Google maps is wrong and they close at 10, not 12. Get your act together or shut down.

They have almost nobody working here. And those that are are really slow and pay no attention to you. I'm not a fan of these types if diner, and I'm even less of this particular franchisee.

Do not eat here. $60.00 for a massive plate of bland food, my fiancés ribs were tiny, dry and all around gross. We will not be back.

Great food, decent prices and friendly service.

When I arrived I walked into a nearly empty restaurant (the sign outside was not lit and it was getting dark). No one at the door to greet me so I went to the bar to find the staff hanging out by the bar. I ordered the Napa Chicken w/portobello mushrooms and a small Caesar salad. The salad was drowning in dressing and I asked them to toss it again. When the server returned the salad it was plain lettuce with dressing on the side. My entree arrived before he could return with a properly tossed Caesar salad so I cancelled it. The Napa Chicken with portobello mushrooms arrived smothered in sautéed onions. The smell just turned me off. I refused the entree and reordered a sirloin steak with shrimp. MUCH BETTER!! The service was okay but the manager complained of a sore shoulder and used foul language within earshot. I suggest some retraining in customer service with an emphasis on company standards.
